FUTURE ANNOUNCEMENTS/FLYERS

A Gala and Silent Auction

Purpose

This special event aims to celebrate our achievements, strengthen community bonds, and honor our partners and outreach efforts dedicated to transforming lives.

Details

We are planning an elegant evening of fine dining, grand company, and dancing at the beautiful and iconic Country Club at Woodmore in Mitchellville on Friday, November 15, 2024, from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Silent Auction

The highlight of our annual fundraiser, the silent auction, will add to the evening’s excitement! We are contacting our congregation, friends of Gethsemane, our church cluster, community partners, Prince George’s County political community, and dignitaries to join in our celebration.

We are soliciting donations for the silent auction and appreciate any contributions that meet our criteria. Please solicit donations to the auction or the gala if you belong to sororities, fraternities, professional or social organizations, clubs, businesses, or other memberships. Every effort is appreciated.

Donation

To continue our path of service and fulfill Gethsemane’s mission and vision, we are aspiring to raise $100,000.  To attend the gala, we request a minimum donation of $250.00 for adults and $125.00 for children ten and under. Please feel free to contribute more if you wish. All proceeds, except the event cost, will be used to enhance our operations, invest in our ministries, and provide meaningful outreach and services to our community.

Register Today!

You may register online through our Realm platform or in-person at Gethsemane.

To register online, scan the barcode on the attached flyer or go to the Realm website and navigate to upcoming events.  Individuals or sponsors can also register for a table (10 guests).  Registration began July 21, 2024 and ends October 30, 2024, or until we reach our maximum capacity of 200 guests.  We anticipate a full house, so please register early.

Church Worship Participants

Grace and peace to you! The Worship Design Team is excited to invite individuals of all ages to participate in our weekly worship services. We believe that each member of our congregation has unique gifts to offer, and there are many ways you can serve your church family: as a greeter, acolyte, reader, prayer leader, usher, in communications, or through dance or choir.

If you or someone you know feels called to participate in any of these capacities, please reach out directly to the Worship Coordinators or the lead in each ministry:

Worship Committee: Rayla Parquet & Min. Jaynae Page

Acolytes/Communion Stewards: Cynthia Wilkins & Lucille McGinnis

Music Coordinator: Lisa Davis

Ushers: Sheila Chapman

Liturgical Dance: Khelsey Marshall

Communications/A/V: Brandon Hayes & Karen Thornton

Thank you for your continuous support as we strive to build a Worship Team that is pleasing to God at GUMC. Your willingness to serve is greatly appreciated and contributes to the richness of our worship experience.

Blessings,
