News from the Baltimore-Washington Conference

SAVINGS GOING SOLAR: Congregations in the Baltimore-Washington Conference can save hundreds of thousands of dollars on their utility bills, the Rev. Stephen Tillett reports. By going solar, Asbury-Broadneck UMC, he said, will save more than $875,000 in the next 30 years. However, there is a deadline looming. In order to maximize the federal and state energy credits and saving, congregations must have a contract signed by a solar energy provider by Dec. 31, 2015, and the solar panels installed and operational by Dec. 31, 2016.
