Rev. Obie Wright, Jr. has been a clergy member of the Baltimore Washington Conference (BWC) since 1986, when his 1970 ordination was recognized. He served as lead pastor at churches in Rockville and in Washington, DC, before his retirement.
Rev. Wright formerly served as vice chair of the BWC Board of Ordained Ministry, vice chair of BWC’s Commission on Religion and Race, and chair of BWC’s Strategic Planning Financial Development Design Team. He also served as an instructor for BWC’s School of Christian Growth.
Rev. Wright currently facilitates Gethsemane Reads, a book discussion group that meets quarterly and is open to all.
