The United Methodist Women are leading up the celebration of their 150th anniversary with the building of its Legacy Fund. A Legacy Luncheon will be held for all those who wish to learn more on Wednesday, March 23, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Those who attend will learn more about how to make or add to their legacy pledge. The United Methodist Women work in bold and creative ministry to women and children. The legacy fund will create a permanent endowment to ensure this vital and essential ministry continues into the future.
ONE GREAT HOUSE OF SHARING
A special Sunday whose offering will benefit the United Methodist Committee on Relief, will be held Sunday, March 6. A special collection of resources has been created to help local leaders promote this opportunity for giving.
UMM LEADERSHIP TRAINING
The Conference United Methodist Men will host a leadership training event Friday, March 11, from 7 to 9:30 p.m. and Saturday, March 12, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at First UMC in Hyattsville. The guest speaker will be Bishop James E. Swanson. The cost is $30. For more information, call 888-413-8251.

The Baltimore-Washington Conference of the United Methodist Church Scholarship Program provides scholarships to help supplement the financial needs of today. 2016 Annual Conference Session
The 232nd session of the Baltimore-Washington Conference will be held from June 1 to June 4, 2016, at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, D.C. This annual event is an opportunity for United Methodists from 631 churches in Washington, D.C., Maryland, the panhandle of West Virginia and Bermuda to gather for worship, fellowship, learning and holy conferencing as they conduct the business of the church. Annual Conference is a series of sacred moments, presided over by Bishop Marcus Matthews, who will retire in September. Registration opens Feb. 10.
NATIONAL BMCR TO BE HELD IN BALTIMORE
Early registration is now open for the 49th general meeting of the Black Methodists for Church Renewal. The gathering will be held March 10-12, 2016, at the Embassy Suites Inner Harbor Hotel in Baltimore. The theme of the meeting is “It’s Harvest Time. Opportunities for sponsors and for vendors are available.
