The Christian Education Ministry presents Gethsemane’s first Winter J-Term Session. The Winter J-Term Session provides the opportunities for our church and community to participate in short term small group classes focused on specific subject matter. To register for any of the classes, please complete the registration form (download here). Classes are open to all members and friends of Gethsemane and our surrounding community.
We will offer three classes during this term:
Leadership 101
Facilitated by: Pastor Ron Triplett and Sister Jessie Alexander
Dates: Saturdays, January 21, 28, February 11, 18, 2017
Time: 10:00 am – 12:00 noon
The leadership training is designed for all Christians who want to further develop their ministry of sharing God’s love in our congregation and in the world. This training is to help you in leading the church in its work of forming disciples and equipping congregations to live out God’s mission in the world. (There is a $25.00 resource fee for this class).
Clarifying Your Christian Beliefs
Facilitated by: Pastor Ron Triplett
Dates: Sundays, January 22, 29, February 12, 19, 2017
Time: 1:00 – 3:00 pm
This class is designed to provide a forum for people to express and clarify their faith. In a culture where there are many voices, influences, and worldly views, it sometimes becomes confusing and difficult to understand, explain, and defend Christian faith. This interactive class will equip and encourage individuals to clearly and effectively assess why they believe what they believe. (Light Lunch Will Be Served)
Intercessory Prayer
Facilitated by: Pastor Ron Triplett
Dates: Wednesdays, January 18, 25, February 1, 8, 2017
Time: 7:00 – 8:30 pm
This class is a prayer clinic to give praying people a tool to hone their skills. It is designed to help you become stronger in the spiritual practice of prayer. You will be led by God’s Spirit in fulfilling the mission of making disciples for the transformation of the world.
